If we’ve learnt nothing else from this devastating pandemic these past few months, it’s just how important flexibility and agility is in the modern marketplace.
None of us have been left untouched by the effects of coronavirus and we’ve all had to quickly adapt both our personal and professional lives to navigate the maelstrom.
Businesses large and small have had to quickly adjust their working practices – everything from staff rotas and social distancing to cleaning procedures and customer interaction.
Change is sometimes forced upon us. But it can have its benefits.
A new approach gives us a fresh perspective. It requires us to take a step back and reassess. In some cases, it highlights room for improvement, or encourages us to adopt a new approach.
This very principle applies to marketing and promoting your business too.
We’re all guilty of getting a little set in our ways. Maybe you’ve always relied on word of mouth to attract new customers, or you get most of your leads from events and face-to-face meetings? Perhaps you routinely buy an advert in an industry journal, or simply post an update on your website as a way of keeping your customers informed about your products and services?
Doing something a certain way does not mean it’s the right way. Something that’s worked in the past does not necessarily mean it is right for the present – or that you couldn’t do even better.
Shake it up a little.
Regularly create quality content that resonates with your audience. Try different delivery methods such as social media, blogs, infographics, articles, or videos. Share your insight on industry issues rather than talking about another of your product launches.
Try something new. Adapt, change – and reap the rewards.
